- Do It Yourself หมายถึง การที่เราลงมือทำงานในบ้านด้วยตนเอง เช่น ซ่อมแซมของใช้ที่ชำรุด ทาสีบ้าน ล้างรถ ประกอบเครื่องใช้ต่าง ๆ เป็นต้น เป็นกิจกรรมยามว่างที่เป็นที่นิยมในประเทศสหรัฐ อเมริกา ซึ่งเรียกกันย่อ ๆ ว่า DIY

- - fault (n.): the responsibility for something wrong that has happened or been done (สิ่งที่ผิดพลาด, สิ่งที่บกพร่อง)
- - turn (n.): the time when somebody in a group of people should or is allowed to do something (รอบ ครั้ง ตา ฯลฯ ที่ได้หรือต้องเป็นผู้เล่น)
- - warranty (n.): a written agreement in which a company selling something promises to repair or replace it if there is a problem within a particular period of time (ใบรับประกันสินค้า)

- - install (v.): to fix equipment or furniture into position so that it can be used (ติดตั้ง)
- - renovate (v.): to repair and paint an old building, a piece of furniture, etc. so that it is in good condition again (ซ่อมแซม, ปรับปรุง)
- - deposit (n.): a sum of money that is paid by somebody when they rent something and that return them if they do not lose or damage the thing they are renting (เงินประกัน)
- - lampshade (n.): a cover fixed over a light to make it less bright (โป๊ะหรือโคมที่ครอบหลอดไฟ ตะเกียง ฯลฯ)
- - windowpane (n.): a single whole piece of glass in a window (กระจกหน้าต่าง)

- pros and cons (n.): argument for and against something, advantages and disadvantages (การถกเถียงอภิปรายข้อดีข้อเสียของเรื่องต่าง ๆ)
- utilities (n.): basic services such as water, gas, electricity, etc. (สาธารณูปโภคพื้นฐาน เช่น น้ำประปา แก๊ส ไฟฟ้า เป็นต้น)
- personality clash (n.): an instance of disagreement or confrontation arising from differences in people’s personalities (ความไม่ลงรอยกันเนื่องจากมีบุคลิกและนิสัยใจคอที่ต่างกัน)
